Visual Editor:
At Global Journalist, I also experimented with other content styles, such as with this explainer piece. It is exemplary of my desire to learn new skills because I had little prior experience in Adobe After Effects, and I taught myself to produce this multimedia element.
Even in 2019, this Colorado-sized area of West Africa hasn’t been decolonized.

Before dabbling with key frames, I taught myself — and my peers — to create audio spectrum waves in Adobe After Effects as part of the newsroom’s efforts to standardize productions.
An audiogram incorporates an image and visualization of audio to engage the audience.
Additionally, the Global Journalist newsroom is experimenting with other forms of social media content such as “Now This” style shorts. Here’s the first example, which I produced.
Since the publication of the above, the content now uses a short intro sequence, which I also produced.
#Malta‘s crusading investigative journalist #DaphneCaruanaGalizia was murdered two years ago in a car-bombing.

To date, prosecutors haven’t identified who ordered her killing nor brought a single suspect to trial. #impunity

Associate Producer:
In this role, I researched and pitched potential stories, pre-interviewed guests in preparation for the live-to-tape recording. The first show can be found here; this production taught me a valuable lesson in the timeliness of news, for the story reported on the protests in Ecuador and Bolivia, and former Bolivian President Evo Morales resigned a few days later.
The second production I worked on airs on Dec. 5, 2019.
Guest Anchor:
I anchored a Global Journalist production on Jim Lehrer. Currently, this production has not aired; it airs in late December or early January.
